#11 Wednesday Words: Inhabited Garden

Hello, readers. This Wednesday Words post is a delightful quote from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a German poet (1749 – 1832). Like me, maybe you’ll think of particular friends or family members as you read it. For years, I’ve had a copy of it stuck in the corner of my vanity mirror.

Living in the midst of a nation that’s in terrible turmoil these days, Goethe’s words bring me much comfort.

“The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers & cities; but to know someone who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.”

~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Thanks for reading!

Best wishes from your writer on the wing,

Charlene
