#26 Wednesday Words: It Must Be Said

posted in: On My Mind 3

Dear readers, welcome back to Wednesday Words. When I began this series, in the very first post I said my aim here is to lift people up. That’s still my aim with Wednesday Words. In a world full of writing and talking that does NOT lift people up, especially during these extremely disturbing times, this blog will be a place that does.

Lifting people up

If you have some interesting ideas that fit this criteria of lifting people up—inspirational quotes, poems, or unique off-the-beaten path topics—let me know, and I may write about them here. Recently, a friend gave me a few fun and interesting things to write about, and I’ve scheduled posts about them to pass them along to you. For example, there’s a certain kind of tree that is an unseen mother of many more trees. I’ll say no more, say no more. Stay tuned for that one!

Agreements of trust

Something else I want to point out is that I will always keep your email subscription private, never selling or giving away your email to anyone. That promise is made in the “Subscribe to Blog Posts” entry form on each page of my website.

Also, I will not share my mailing list, which is stored on Mailchimp, with anyone, either. Period. Mailchimp, a trusted email delivery system, sends my blog posts to your Inbox at 9:00 am the day I choose to publish.

It Must Be Said

Today, here’s a saying that lifts me up, inspires me to be a better person…and it makes me laugh. I hope you like it. It’s attributed to Alexander Hamilton, Peter Marshall, and others. It was on a greeting card I bought, positioned underneath a funny photo of a woman standing on top of a horse. This saying, I think, can be applied to lots of issues in our lives:

Thanks for reading!

Best wishes from your writer on the wing,

Charlene

Very appropriate in this era of trying to counter Trump’s lies with the “truth”. The only problem is that most of us who stand up against Trump’s Xenophobic values are preaching to the choir. As long as Fox News has 70% of prime time viewers we’re shouting in a vacuum
