A Holiday Wish: Poetry in 2025

Greetings from your Florida writer and poet on the wing! I’m writing to wish you and your family a safe and peaceful holiday season filled with happy music (like bells gently ringing) and many lovely surprises in 2026.

My gift to you

What’s poetry good for? Here’s this from Christian Winman, editor of Poetry magazine from 2003-2013:

Let us remember … that in the end we go to poetry

for one reason, so that we might more fully inhabit

our lives and the world in which we live them, and

that if we more fully inhabit these things, we might

be less apt to destroy both.

Thanks for reading!

Your writer on the wing,

Charlene

    Merry Christmas Charlene!

Just an update on my book, The Great Goodbye.

A Hollywood production company, called Voyage Media, has decided to take my book and the associated podcast about it, and turn it into a Hollywood movie. The movie is currently in development. A posting on their website, listed under “Voyage Media Originals”, alludes to it. Since it is in development, there is no release date yet. The movie is most likely to be streamed, which could be Netflix or some other major streaming outlet. Just an FYI.
