Greetings, readers. On a trip long ago, my husband and I visited many Buddhist temples in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Tibet and saw many monks going about their peaceful rituals and prayers. I think they are an inspiration, reminding us to hold onto our humanity, be kind, and offer peace, especially in challenging situations. Isn’t that a worthwhile aim every day?
One meditation from The 8-Fold Buddha Path that I especially like is to daily “renew one’s resolve to take up worthwhile tasks.”
Buddhist monks walking for peace
Maybe you’ve seen recent reports about Buddhist monks who are walking for peace—a worthwhile task for them—but if not, here’s a link to one that is quite moving. I think they are inspiring and comforting.
