Hi folks. With permission from Dr. Lalich, PhD, Professor Emerita of Sociology at California State Univerity, Chico, author of Bounded Choice: True Believers and Charismatic Cults and other books about cults —and supporter of my memoir, Undertow—I am extremely pleased to post the following event announcent. I hope to see you there. I’ve already registered.
“You are invited to join Dr. Janja Lalich and the Lalich Center for a live conversation with Briell Decker, survivor of the FDLS [Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints] polygamous cult, led by Warren Jeffs. Briell was forced to marry Jeffs when she turned 18, becoming his 65th wife. She bravely escaped and now works as a survivor advocate and activist. The documentary, Prisoner of the Prophet on Amazon Prime, Max, and Discovery+ tells Briell’s story.”
