Charlene on FWA Speakers Bureau

posted in: Curiosities 4

Greetings, readers. NEWS: It’s official. I’m now a member of the Florida Writers Speakers Bureau

What does this mean?

I’m on the list of qualified persons to share presentations about memoir writing or the writing life with groups sponsored by the Florida Writers Association (FWA).

A few years ago before this bureau was instituted, I gave a few talks to FWA writers groups in person and online. One was about Undertow (when it first came out), another on the art of memoir writing, and another offering tips on sharing your book in public. Now I’m official and FWA members can find me listed as an approved speaker.

SIDENOTE: I am retired from giving in-person public presentations soley about my cult story, Undertow, to audiences unfamiliar with it. However, from time to time, I meet with college students assigned to read the book. Here’s one of my blogs about that:

Thanks for reading!

Your writer on the wing,

Charlene

Thank you, Steve. It’s really an honor to do this: sharing what I’ve learned.
