Time Travel: Turkey 2011

posted in: Travels 0

001 CLE Hotel & Blue MosqTurkey. Cook it. Eat it. Or visit it … the history-soaked land in the Near East, the crossroads of Europe and Asia, includes lands even farther east reached via the Silk Road.

Our Turkey trip

My husband and I traveled around Turkey in 2001 for one month. When we got home, I created the most complex and thorough trip report I’d ever written and it’s probably the last of its kind from my desk.

What’s now called Turkey, a land made famous by Constantine and a parade of other rulers and civilizations, gave me an education I’ll never forget.

I hope our exploration will offer you insights and scenic views you would not otherwise get on your own. For us, the trip was inspiring and spectacular. One of the great Edge adventures!

Update: As of this writing, unfortunately the Syrian conflict has impacted Turkey. It had barely started when we were over there.

Getting to the Turkey blog

My Turkey 2011 blog is housed on a website called BlogSpot. My own website here did not exist yet. So … you can get to Turkey the following ways:

Click → From the Edge in Turkey

OR on this website, navigate to the “Travel Writing” page and click the link that says “From the Edge in Turkey.”

Happy leftover turkey sandwich eating weekend!

See you next time!
