Happy New Year – 2016!

20150204_225016Happy New Year – 2016 – to all you blog subscribers and also to any visitors to my website! This post is dedicated to you.

Without readers … well, I’d keep blogging, but it might not be as much fun. Thank you for your comments, insights, and remarks of all kinds last year. I am encouraged by people like you who are reading … anything! … and responding with thoughtfulness and care.

What I intend for my 2016 posts

… is to keep letting you know that I, too, am here sorting out this thing we call life. My plan for 2016, besides getting my memoir accepted for publication (YES!) is to continue offering my “take” on those six categories you see listed at the bottom of this and every post: Curiosities, About Cults, Issues with Fundamentalism, My Writing Life, On My Mind, and last but not least—Travels.

My intention here is to write. To be informative, helpful, honest, friendly, and sometimes joyful, with maybe some other Girl Scout qualities thrown in alongside occasional writerly snide remarks. I try not to take myself too seriously even when I write about serious stuff. You may have noticed, but I try to avoid writing trivia. But if I do, it’s for art’s sake 🙂

All posts on this site are stored here for reference at any time, so I invite you to take a tour by clicking on those category titles below, whichever ones are to your liking. It’s free. Oh, I forgot. Nothing is free. It will cost you a little time, so thank you for that.

I do appreciate that you spend some of your time currency here, and I hope that whatever I write is of value to you, that you feel it’s been worth your attention. If not, if it is of no use, then disregard it. That’s the philosophy of one of my heroes, the Dalai Lama who also reminds us that:

“Every noble work is bound to face problems and obstacles. It is important to check your goal and motivation thoroughly. One should be very truthful, honest, and reasonable. One’s actions should be good for others, and for oneself as well. Once a positive goal is chosen, you should decide to pursue it all the way to the end. Even if it is not realized, at least there will be no regret.”

In closing, may your new year be bright and successful, prosperous and delightful, and embedded with peace.

Thank you again for your support of this blog, but most of all for your goodwill.

All best wishes for 2106!

Your Writer on The Wing,

Charlene

See you next time!
